About:

The NATO CIMIC Higher Command Course (NCHCC) is designed to equip CIMIC staff from NATO Command and Force Structure (NCS and NFS), as well as non-NATO and non-military personnel, with the required knowledge, skills and mindset to prepare, plan and conduct CIMIC activities across the full spectrum of NATO multi-domain operations, missions and activities.. This includes operations during peacetime, crises, and conflicts.

The course focuses on the NATO Operations Planning Process (OPP) and related headquarters staff processes and procedures. The NCHCC adds to students’ individual portfolios of knowledge, generating the confidence needed to become effective NATO CIMIC staff members at NATO’s strategic, operational and higher tactical level performing within a continuously changing, challenging and complex operating environment.

Additionally, the NCHCC provides an opportunity for individuals from civil organisations to gain awareness and understand their role within the NATO Comprehensive Approach. By assessing the political-military context and fostering interaction with all involved parties, the course ensures that CIMIC  staff can contribute effectively with their functional expertise to the planning and execution of  multi-domain operations.
